| WEDDING FAQ |
| Do you offer wedding packages? Yes. More importantly, we believe in customizing and tailoring coverage to suit exactly what you envision. Award-winning coverage includes fine art photographs and a personal website for online viewing/ordering. Digital negatives, creative engagement sessions, a photo booth, custom designed leather albums, coffee table books, cards and a variety of gifts are available to complete your collection. Who will be shooting our wedding? I will! Eric and I are a husband and wife super team! Hillary’s creative talent, art history background, MFA in Photography, and 8 years experience photographing weddings will let you rest assured that your photographs will be amazing. Eric has a Radio/TV/Film degree and is a second shooter. We personally handle everything ensuring you receive unsurpassed service and gorgeous photographs. Do you take formal family portraits? Yes. This is an important time when family members are gathered all together. We ask that you determine what family groupings are most important to you and we’ll chat about this just prior to your wedding. Since long lists can keep you away from your event, many clients find that 8-10 posed group portraits will accommodate their needs. Hillary’s personality is well suited to leading large groups in creative endeavors! Do you provide photographs? Yes! I kindly urge you to let me provide you with beautiful, well-printed, archival photographs. Black & White photographs, canvas prints, floating wall mounts, and more can all be custom made for you. Do you travel for weddings? We LOVE to travel! Hillary has lived in Spain while she was in college, and we’ve been lucky to travel and photograph all over Peru, Mexico, China, all through Europe and the US. We even went to Tibet for our honeymoon! Destination wedding coverage can be surprisingly reasonable. We offer 3 days of complete coverage for destinations outside of the US, often for the price of a regular wedding, plus travel. Please contact us and we’ll create a custom quote for you. What about weddings throughout the US? We’d be glad to travel! We cover Wisconsin and Chicago regularly and have strong ties to Savannah, Georgia and the Washington DC metropolitan area. We live 25 min. away from one of the nicest airports in the world and we’re pretty savvy travelers. 150 miles total are included. Travel is billed at cost, extra time is often complementary. What is your Photo Booth like? A “Photo Booth” is where your friends and guests can pose for portraits in front of a white background during your reception. This can be sweet and classic (great for family portraits of guests) or as wild and crazy as your guests can be. By request, we can also bring props -because if aunt so-and-so wants to try sporting wild hats or funky glasses, we think she should have that opportunity! What equipment do you use? I shoot with Canon EOS 5D and 5D Mark II digital SLR cameras and L-series lenses. I use: high powered portable strobes, the 580 EXII speedlight, light modifiers, Dynalites, pocket wizards for wireless transmission, and am prepared with all sorts of intricacies in my camera bag - even thoughtful travel kit items for your use if need arises. Do you have back-up gear? Absolutely, I have back-up gear of everything. I’m prepared and you’re covered. What is your timeline for delivering wedding photos? Your photographs are available in an online web gallery in approximately 2 weeks. You’re the first to be notified when it goes up! This gallery is great because everyone; friends and family everywhere can view and order photographs if they wish. Photographs take about a week to print from the time ordered. Albums vary, and timeframes range from 2-4 months for completion. Do you post process my images? Yes. A great deal of time, love, and individual attention is given to your images after your wedding day. Your photographs are professionally edited, color corrected, and adjustments are made to make great images look even better. This includes the kinds of things that used to be done in the darkroom, such as: cropping, dodging and burning, and increasing contrast. I believe in making great images right in the camera, and I believe in making images that endure. I do not wish to give you trendy image effects that will be outdated in the future. Your photographs are also archived, resized for print, and optimized for social media. We love your work! How do we get started? Great! We invite couples to meet with us and tell us more about their wedding ideas and preferences for photography coverage. We accept a limited number of weddings each year to provide clients with unsurpassed service and gorgeous photographs. A signature and $800 non-refundable retainer officially books your date. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions. |
